Lithium-Ion Battery Fire Risk Analysis
Context
Lithium-ion batteries carry a rare but serious risk: thermal runaway, which can end in fire. Nationale-Nederlanden wanted to know whether Battery Management System (BMS) data could show early warning signs before that happens.
What I did
- Analysed experimental and real-world BMS data
- Looked for patterns that show up ahead of fire risk in lithium-ion battery systems
This one stayed an analysis rather than a product, but it gave the team a clearer read on what the battery data could and couldn’t tell them.
