Aircraft Turnaround Prediction
Context
A turnaround is the time between a plane arriving at the gate and pushing back again. At Schiphol Group it drives punctuality, capacity planning, and how the day feels for passengers. Predict it well and the airport can line up resources ahead of time instead of scrambling.
What I built
- Built a real-time model that estimates turnaround duration from flight data, aircraft type, weather, and operational conditions
- Helped evolve it from an internal tool into a scalable, commercial product used across airports
- Ran the model in production end to end, with monitoring, performance analysis, and alerting through Grafana dashboards
